The Golden Bridges area (1390 m sea level) is situated among Vladayska River’s current, and  the border between the North (Kamendel) and the Northwest (Selimishki) sections of Vitosha mountain.  The enormous oval stone blocks of syenite (moraines) along the wide river bed are really impressive. They completely cover the water stream, for the presence of which one only realizes from  the muffled rumble. Most moraines  are covered with yellowish lichen, which, in the sun, acquire golden color. This is one of the explanations for the name of the area. Another association  with  the name is  the presence of golden sand in the river, which is also a fact. The area also impresses with the huge spruce trees, the century-old beech trees  and the beautiful birch trees.

The trail starts from the Stone river in the Golden Bridges Area. There are yellow markers on it. The route ends at Momina Skala hut and the vast meadow before it. There  you can have a short break before going on the opposite road. The trail goes along forests and meadows. No view of Sofia.
