Their horo and rachenitsa dances are performed faster and more energetically compared with the ones of the other groups. The male folklore dancers tend to express this vigour through words, sounds or syllables in different moments of the dance - "Hah now", "Dzidzay, nane", "Drazh se, zemio (Come on, ground)", and more.

The female costume of Shopluk is of the sukman type for almost all areas except the Kyustendil one, where it is of the Sayan type. It is compounded of an embroidered white chemise and a woolen tunic, which is either dark blue or black. In Graovsko area, the sukman is black; it is called “litak”. Over the sukman, they put on woven poyas (waistband) called “tkanitsa” or red waistband in most of the settlements. The male costume is mostly white-cloth. It consists of a white shirt and narrow white wool “benevretsi” (tight homespun breeches).
