They dance in a moderate pace, with squatting and torso slightly bent backwards. Dobrudzha horo dances may be closed, in a semicircle, or prava (straight) rachenica. Men play in a straight line, and when the horos are mixed gender (men and women), they are in a circle or semicircle. People of Dobroudja also love to play "alone" - solo; for instance, the "rachenik" dance is performed in groups, but as if by individual soloists.

Dobrudzha rachenik is also relatively slow, but with a strong rhythm that is characteristic of the Dobrudzha melodies. It is played in a weighty manner and often by men.
